Southern Steel Finalizes Acceptance of Simac Wire Rod Mill
08/01/2004 - The Southern Steel Corp, Vietnam, recently awarded Simac SpA, Italy, the certificate for final acceptance of its new wire rod mill at the Bien Hoa works. Simac designed, supplied and commissioned the mill.

Simac’s scope of supply included housingless stands, shear, loop former, finishing block for 5.5 to 12 mm diameter wire rod, water cooling section, pinch roll and laying head. Simac also supplied the loop cooling conveyor, coil forming device, pressing and tying machine for individual coils, and additional pressing and tying equipment for multiple coils. Simac’s scope also included hydraulic and lubrication equipment, power supply, automation and software as well as ancillary facilities.
Erection and handover were completed in the first quarter of 2004.
