Spartan UK to Supply Steel Sheets for Nuclear Power Station Construction
08/12/2025 - Metinvest announced its British rolling mill Spartan UK will provide steel sheets for the construction of the new Sizewell C nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast in the U.K.
Spartan UK sales manager Ian Robinson said in total, Spartan UK will supply 1,600 metric tons of steel sheets in two deliveries. The first 800 metric tons is set to be delivered in August while the remaining half will be delivered in the third quarter of 2025.
“This is a proud moment for Spartan UK. We are honored to be involved in a project that not only strengthens the country’s energy security, but also demonstrates the strength and reliability of British manufacturing,” said Robinson.
Sizewell C is estimated to have the capacity to provide clean energy to power up to 6 million homes and create up to 10,000 jobs during construction. This will be the first time British consumers will be co-owners of a nuclear power station.
Metinvest said the project is key to the U.K.’s ambitions for clean energy and building a sustainable, low-CO2 future.
Construction of Sizewell C has not yet begun.
