SSAB Partners With Service Center on Green Steel Distribution
01/11/2023 - Swedish service center operator Stena Stål has signed a letter of intent with SSAB to distribute the steelmaker’s fossil-fuel-free steel, becoming the first external supplier of the product.
“I am happy to welcome Stena Stål as a fossil-free steel partner. Together, we are contributing to reduced carbon dioxide emissions when we introduce fossil-free steel to the Swedish market,” said Matts Nilsson, SSAB’s head of sales for Sweden and Norway. “We are together building fossil-free value chains all the way to the end customer.”
SSAB is aiming to begin commercial-scale deliveries of its fossil-fuel-free steel in 2026 and to largely eliminate carbon dioxide emissions from our own operations by 2030
