Stainless Steel Shines in Elon Musk's Eye
12/27/2018 - Steel remains the go-to material in automotive applications. But as it seems, it may offer advantages in interplanetary applications, too.
As the website TechCrunch reported, SpaceX founder Elon Musk tweeted a picture of a stainless steel component of a test space vehicle and later explained that stainless has some advantages over carbon fiber at very hot and cold temperatures.
