Stalatube Expands Product Range to Stainless Flat Bars
11/16/2009 - Stalatube is expanding its product range to stainless flat bars to complement the current stainless steel structural tube products. The new flat bar manufacturing will require additional investment that will be implemented during Q4 2009.
Stalatube is expanding its product range to stainless flat bars to complement the current stainless steel structural tube products. The new flat bar manufacturing will require additional investment that will be implemented during Q4 2009.
The flat bar range of products were to be launched to customers at this year’s international Stainless Steel World trade fair in Maastricht, November 10-12. Sales will begin in January 2010.
The investment in flat bar production expands Stalatube’s recent investment into a new slitting line and utilizes the increased cutting capacity. Investment will be done to the Lahti plant, alongside current production facilities.
"In Europe, the market size of flat bars is half the size of the square tube market. In the future, flat bars will provide us with significantly increased volume,” said CEO Jukka Nummi.
Finnish stainless steel hollow section manufacturer Stalatube Ltd. is a second-generation family company. Reino Rajamäki founded Stala Oy in 1972. The Stalatube division was created to focus on stainless hollow sections. Stalatube’s turnover is around EUR 100 million, generated by more than 100 employees. Products are exported to more than 40 countries.
