Steel Dynamics Announces Leadership Changes

According to a press release, Pushis will retire from his position as senior vice president special projects at Steel Dynamics to pursue a position as chief executive officer of McBride Capital Partners “Project Aero.” The U.S.-based company plans to construct a titanium manufacturing facility in North Carolina.

“Glenn has been instrumental in the successful construction of many of our greenfield growth investments, including our Sinton Texas flat-rolled steel mill and currently our strategic investments in aluminum flat-rolled products,” said Mark Millett, co-founder, chairman and chief executive officer of Steel Dynamics.

While Pushis joined Steel Dynamics in 1994, his most recent contribution was the successful design and construction of the company’s new 650,000-metric-ton low-carbon recycled aluminum flat-rolled products mill in Columbus, Miss., USA. He was responsible for the design and construction of the Sinton Flat Roll Division along with various other construction projects, the company said.

Pushis also served as senior vice president, long products steel group along with various operational and leadership roles prior to the construction projects.

“Since joining us in 2019, Miguel has helped grow our flat-rolled steel and metals recycling presence in North America and has passionately led his teams to new levels of service, efficiency, supply chain solutions and excellence,” Millett said.

Alvarez was promoted to lead the company’s metals recycling platform in March 2022.

Alvarez will assume the role of senior vice president aluminum group, leading the company’s new strategic aluminum investments commissioned under Pushis’ leadership as well as an ancillary recycled aluminum deox-rod facility, the company said.

Steel Dynamics said it will announce the new senior leader for its metals recycling platform in the coming weeks.
