Dec. 22, 2006 — Steel Dynamics, Inc.’s Board of Directors has approved the continuation of a special cash dividend of $0.05 per common share. The special cash dividend will be distributed in addition to the company's regular quarterly cash dividend of $0.10 per common share.

Shareholders of record at the close of business on January 2, 2007 will receive a combined cash dividend of $0.15 per common share payable on January 15, 2007. These cash dividends pertain to shares of Steel Dynamics after the two-for-one stock split that took place on November 20, 2006.
