Preliminary U.S. Steel Imports Decline 7% in February
26 March 2013 - Based on preliminary U.S. Census Bureau data, the American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) reported that the U.S. imported a total of 2,441,000 tons of steel in February, including 1,819,000 tons of finished steel (down 7% and 15%, respectively, vs. January final data).

13 March 2013 - The Canadian International Trade Tribunal found that the dumping and subsidizing of seamless carbon or alloy steel oil and gas well casing from China were likely to result in injury or retardation, therefore antidumping and countervailing duties will be maintained.

This was a 5% decrease from the 2,692,000 permit tons recorded in January and down 0.8% from the January preliminary imports total of 2,579,000 tons.
