EPA to Begin Full Investigation at Raritan Bay Slag Superfund Site

08 April 2010 - The U.S. EPA will begin a full investigation of the type and extent of contamination at the Raritan Bay Slag Superfund Site in Old Bridge and Sayreville, N.J., within a few weeks. The site was put on the federal Superfund list in November 2009 after sampling revealed elevated levels of lead in the jetty and seawall.

AK Steel Announces May 2010 Surcharges

EU Hands out Excess Carbon Allowances in 2009

02 April 2010 - The recession led to emissions from industrial plants included in the EU's emissions trading system to drop by 11% in 2009, according to energy information provider ICIS Heren. The EU handed out more free carbon allowances than were actually needed for plants to comply with 2009 emissions.
