Steelworkers Union Opens Labor Talks with Cleveland-Cliffs
09/06/2018 - The United Steelworkers union is kicking off contract negotiations with iron ore miner Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. as they look to replace a deal that expired 1 October.
"We're hoping that the negotiations can go smoothly with where the industry is and where Cleveland-Cliffs is," Chris Johnson, president of USW Local 2705, tells the Hibbing (Minn.) Daily Tribune.
Cleveland-Cliffs has four active mines in Minnesota and Michigan.
