Tallman Technologies Celebrates its 150th Anniversary
11/14/2025 - Tallman Technologies Inc. marked its 150th anniversary in 2025, a milestone for the Canadian company which has made contributions to global steel- and ironmaking technological innovation.
Founded in 1875 as Phoenix Brass Foundry in Hamilton, Ont., Canada, the company has transformed from a producer of brass and bronze castings into a developer of advanced injection and monitoring solutions used in the steel- and ironmaking industry.
“Today, Tallman’s patented systems focus on reducing CO₂ emissions while improving safety and energy efficiency inside the furnace,” the company said in a press release.
These systems include the TSCi™ supersonic carbon injector and real-time process monitoring systems powered by machine learning and AI.
Led by its president, Mike Strelbisky, and vice president, Aaron Strelbisky, the company said it will continue to prioritize sustainability and safety while supporting the shift toward green steel production and safeguarding workers.
As it enters its next 150 years, Tallman said it intends to keep pushing the industry toward a cleaner, smarter and more efficient future.
An upcoming Steeling the Spotlight feature on Tallman Technologies Inc. is set to appear in the December 2025 issue of Iron & Steel Technology.
