Tata Steel Creates Carbon Surcharge

04/12/2021 - Tata Steel Europe will being adding a per-ton carbon surcharge to it steel contracts, a move that passes on the cost of carbon emissions allowances to buyers, reports commodities news and pricing service S&P Global Platts.

"In order to ensure a sustainable EU and U.K.-based steel industry for the future, we need to pass these costs on," a Tata spokesperson told Platts.
