Tata Steel Hopes to Boost Production at Former Bhushan Steel Plant
10/02/2018 - Tata Steel is aiming to lift the capacity utilization of a newly acquired integrated sheet mill by at least 14% over the next six months.
According to the PTI news service, a Tata official said the former Bhushan Steel plant in the state of Idisha is capable of producing 5 million metric tons, but is currently making about 3.5 million metric tons.
“We are working to raise the production at least to a level of 4 MT a year by March 2019 as demand remains robust," the official said.
Tata Steel acquired Bhushan Steel through bankruptcy proceedings earlier this year.
