Tenaris Expands Canada’s Manufacturing Capabilities With Proprietary Steel Grade
10/14/2026 - Tenaris announced it will domestically produce its new TN 95EY proprietary steel grade for demanding oil and gas applications at its Sault Ste. Marie Industrial Centre in Ont., Canada.
“Having the TN 95EY steel grade produced domestically adds another locally made option while connecting domestic manufacturing capabilities with the needs of our country’s energy industry from coast to coast,” said Pablo Toy, commercial vice president of Tenaris in Canada.
The company said the new steel grade comes as an answer to the evolving needs of Western Canadian energy operators. Teams across operations, metallurgy, information technology and laboratory testing collaborated to develop TN 95EY. It can be used in both high-pressure and high-temperature conditions.
“The TN 95EY steel grade delivers the strength and performance needed for these applications and producing it in Canada allows us to respond directly to our customers’ evolving needs while strengthening our commitment to Canadian manufacturing,” said Martín Castro, the president of Tenaris in Canada.
