Celsa Group has contracted Tenova Goodfellow for four new EFSOP installations, namely for the second Celsa furnace (Barcelona, Spain), Nervacero (Vizcaya, Spain), Global Steel Wire (Santander, Spain), and Celsa Manufacturing (Cardiff, U.K.).
Tenova Goodfellow installed its proprietary EFSOP® system on the 140-tonne EAF #2 at Celsa Barcelona (Spain) in February 2010 to improve performance and operating cost by reducing electricity, oxygen, methane, injected carbon and charge carbon use.
A performance guarantee was mutually agreed upon by both parties. In May 2010, Celsa Barcelona signed off that Tenova Goodfellow had successfully fulfilled the performance guarantee as per the contract.
