Tenova to Relocate, Revamp Strip Processing Line for Thyssen Krupp
10/15/2008 - Tenova Strip Processing will transfer and revamp Thyssen Krupp Acciai Speciali Terni’s Stainless Steel Annealing and Pickling Line No. 4 from Turin to its facility in Terni.
Thyssen Krupp Acciai Speciali Terni SpA recently contracted Tenova Strip Processing to transfer its Stainless Steel Annealing and Pickling Line No. 4 from its Turin facility to its Terni facility.
In addition to revamping the plant as a whole as well as the process section in particular, the project also involves a full furnace upgrade that will be handled by Tenova LOI Italimpianti. Once the project has been completed, this line will provide a top capacity of 50 tonnes/hour. It will process coils weighing up to 27 tonnes, with thicknesses from 2 to 7 mm for hot strip and 2 to 5 mm for cold strip.
This project represents the third order that Thyssen Krupp has awarded to Tenova Strip Processing over the last two years. Previous projects included the transfer and revamp of the stainless steel bright annealing line from the Thyssen Krupp factory in Turin to the Terni facility (awarded May 2007) and the transfer of Stainless Steel Annealing and Pickling Line No. 5 from Turin to Terni (awarded in December 2007).
Work on this most recent project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2009.
