The Defense Logistics Agency Makes US$400 Million Supply Agreement With Cleveland-Cliffs
07/02/2026 - The Defense Logistics Agency which supplies the U.S. Department of War signed a contract with Cleveland-Cliffs for up to US$400 million of grain oriented electrical steel, reported Defense Blog.
Cleveland-Cliffs is the only U.S. producer of grain oriented electrical steel which meets the standards the country’s power grid and military infrastructure needs. The contract runs for five years, with the company set to supply up to 53,000 short tons of grain oriented electrical steel, the Defense Blog reported. The steel is used in transformers for the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and Space Force.
