Three Killed in Steel Plant Accident
05/07/2017 - Three people were killed and three others were injured at an Indian steel mill after a ladle accidentally tipped and spilled 25 to 30 metric tons of molten metal, according to the Hindustan Times newspaper.
According to the publication, the accident occurred around 4 a.m. Saturday at the Steel Authority of India’s IISCO plant in Burnpur, West Bengal.
“We have instituted a high-level inquiry to find out how the disaster happened and how such accidents could be avoided in future. We will not compromise on safety issues at all,” a company spokesperson told the newspaper.
