thyssenkrupp Orders Danieli Reheat Furnaces
03/12/2021 - Danieli Centro Combustion has won an order for two slab reheat furnaces from thyssenkrupp, the OEM has announced.
According to Danieli, the walking beam furnaces will serve the Bruckhausen No. 4 hot mill at the steelmaker’s Duisburg, Germany, site. The furnaces are part of thyssenkrupp’s Strategy 20-30 investment plan.
Danieli said the furnaces will have a cold-charging reheat capacity of 380 metric tons per hour and a hot-charging capacity of 560 metric tons per hour. The furnaces feature an optimized combustion system that can burn hydrogen.
Start-up is set for early 2024, Danieli said.
