thyssenkrupp to Idle Electrical Steel Production in Europe

12/11/2025 - thyssenkupp’s steel unit will temporarily idle production of electrical steel in Europe due to cheap imports from Asia, Reuters reported.

The company’s electrical steel plants in Germany and France will be idled from mid-December to the end of the year. Beginning in January, its Isbergues site in France will operate at half capacity for about four months, Reuters reported.
