thyssenkrupp to Upgrade BF 2 During Six-Week Off-Line
09/01/2026 - thyssenkrupp Steel will take its blast furnace (BF) 2 off-line for a planned partial upgrade at its site in Duisburg, Germany, reported Steel Orbis.
The company said the project will focus on BF 2’s central cooling systems and the heat-resistant lining in its lower section. Maintenance work will be carried out on auxiliary systems during the outage on gas cleaning and slag granulation systems, Steel Orbis reported.
