Trump to Revise Some Steel, Aluminum Tariffs
02/13/2026 - U.S. President Donald Trump said he will cut back some of the Section 232 steel and aluminum tariffs, Reuters reports.
The Trump administration is currently reviewing the products affected by the Section 232 tariffs and plans to exempt several items while not expanding it any further and launch security probes into certain goods, said Reuters, citing a report from the Financial Times.
During a visit to Detroit last month, Trump said he aims to refocus on U.S. manufacturing and address high consumer costs to relieve the economic burden on U.S. households.
