Tubemaker Starts Up Cold-Drawn Mill
10/21/2020 - Mexico’s Productos Especializados de Acero (PEASA) has inaugurated a Fives-built tube mill at a new facility in San Luis Potosi, the company has announced.
According to Fives, the OTO mill will produce automotive-focused, cold-drawn tubes from high-yield material. The mill can process round tubes with yield strengths of up to 900 MPa and with a diameter-to-thickness ratio of 6, Fives said.
Fives also said the mill is characterized by its high strength, compact design, and its quick change and heavy-duty cutoff capabilities.
