U. S. Steel Announces its Board of Directors
07/30/2025 - United States Steel Corporation, along with Nippon Steel Corp. and its subsidiary Nippon Steel North America Inc., announced the appointment of three independent U.S. directors to U. S. Steel’s board of directors.
The three new independent U.S. directors are John Donovan, Robert Stevens and Timothy Keating. The four existing directors are David Burritt, Takahiro Mori, Naoki Sato and Hiroshi Ono. Comprised of seven directors, four of the U. S. Steel board are U.S. citizens.

Steel’s position as the leading steelmaker in the United States,” said Mori, representative director, vice chairman and executive vice president of Nippon Steel and chairman of the U. S. Steel board.
Donovan has served as chief executive officer of AT&T Communications, was on the board of directors of Palo Alto Networks Inc. and the board of directors of Lockheed Martin Corp., and was a member of the U.S. president’s national security telecommunications advisory committee.
Stevens has served as chairman, president and chief executive officer of Lockheed Martin Corp. He eventually went on to be executive chairman as well. He serves on the advisory board of the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation and is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations. He has been an independent director of T. Rowe Price Group and Monsanto Corp.
Keating served as commander of the United States Pacific Command until his retirement. He has also served as commander of the United States Northern Command and the North American Aerospace Defense Command. He now is the chief executive officer and vice chair of the board of directors at Keating Global LLC.
