U. S. Steel Idling Lorain Tubular Operations
01/07/2015 - United States Steel Corporation is temporarily idling operations and making layoffs at its Lorain Tubular Operations in Lorain, Ohio, as a result of a decline in tubular market conditions which is impacting demand for the plant’s tubular products.
In a letter to the United Steelworkers union (USW), U. S. Steel said layoffs will commence on 8 March 2014, with additional layoffs occurring through May 2015. The letter sent to the union can be seen here.
