U. S. Steel Reports a Stronger Q2 Than Last Year
08/03/2021 - United States Steel Corporation reported adjusted net earnings of US$964 million for the second quarter.
“The second quarter was an exceptional quarter for U. S. Steel,” chief executive David Burritt said during a conference call last week. Net sales for the quarter were reported at US$5.03 billion, compared to US$2.9 billion a year ago.
Looking forward, however, U. S. Steel will shift their focus to capabilities for higher-value products.
“Don’t be looking for us to add a bunch of capacity,” Burritt said. “Look for us to add capability for profitable growth.”
