United Steel Supply Turns to Red Bud Industries for Light-Gauge Slitting Line
10/22/2025 - Red Bud Industries announced it has received an order from building products supplier United Steel Supply for a light-gauge slitting line at its Jeffersonville, Ind., USA, facility.
The company said the new line is designed to have precision slitting capabilities with a CNC semiautomatic slitting head, low passline and a surface mounted design which eliminates the need for foundation work.
The slitter can process cold-rolled, prepaint, aluminum and galvanized materials ranging from 0.25–1.27 mm thick. The line can reach speeds up to 152 m/minute. It will also feature quick-change tooling and a scrap baller.
Altogether, the new line will have a coil car, uncoiler, peeler breaker, parting shear, CNC semiautomatic slitting head, scrap baller, thread system, roll tensioner, quick-change divider tooling bars, recoiler and exit coil car, the company said.
