USW Kicking Off Contract Talks with U. S. Steel, Cleveland-Cliffs
07/16/2026 - The United Steelworkers union has launched local contract negotiations with United States Steel Corporation and Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. and expects to commence discussion on master agreements next week, reports the The (northwest Indiana) Times.
According to the newspaper, union priorities include wages, healthcare, safety and long-term mill investments.The union's current contracts with the steelmakers expire in September.
