voestalpine Nearing Sale of Majority Stake in Texas HBI Mill
04/11/2022 - The steelmaker is in advanced discussions to sell 80% of its stake in its Corpus Christi, Texas, USA, hot briquetted iron (HBI) mill, according to an official press release.
voestalpine said it began an “open-ended market sounding” for voestalpine Texas several months ago and has now entered negotiations with an undisclosed buyer.
Any sale will be conditional on the company securing long-term HBI supply agreement for its operations in Linz and Donawitz, voestalpine said.
