A major milestone was celebrated on 23 July 2012 in Giurgiu, Romania – a town on the Danube very close to the Bulgarian border: the start of production operations at voestalpine Steel Service Center Romania SRL.

After a 23-month-long construction process and despite a host of problems encountered along the way, on 23 July 2012 the voestalpine Group celebrated the successful start-up of voestalpine Steel Service Center Romania SRL, as the newest member of the voestalpine Steel Division corporate family.

With overall usable floor space of 9000 m², a multi-blanking line for processing voestalpine’s high-end flat-rolled steel products and a team of specialists with in-depth experience, voestalpine Steel Service Center Romania SRL is a dynamic and flexible base in Eastern Europe to react rapidly and efficiently to challenges from the markets of tomorrow.
