WorleyParsons to Install Smart-Gas System for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel EAF
12/19/2007 - WorleyParsons Gas Cleaning will install a complete Smart-Gas System that will allow Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel to optimize total energy utilization in their Mingo Junction EAF.
Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Corp. has placed a purchase order with WorleyParsons Gas Cleaning for a complete, state-of-the-art Smart-Gas™ System for the company’s Mingo Junction EAF.
WorleyParsons’ proprietary Smart-Gas System will visually track and upload process data that will allow Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel to optimize, in real-time, total energy utilization in the EAF.
Installation and commissioning of the Smart-Gas System on the EAF at Wheeling-Pittsburgh’s Mingo Junction, Ohio, steel plant represents WorleyParsons Gas Cleaning’s third Smart-Gas System in the U.S. The company has also commissioned a fourth application in South Korea.
