Zhongshou’s Arvedi ESP line will feature an extra-long casting machine and nine rolling stands with caster exit thicknesses starting at 130 mm. This will allow them to achieve high productivity rates for commodity steel markets and high-strength low-alloy steel for specialized applications. Coil thickness will range from 0.7 to 12.7 mm with full optimization for endless mode across all thicknesses. 

The company said all four high-reduction mill stands were also in place within one week of the first installation. The remaining five rolling stands will be installed next. In total, there will be four high-reduction and five will be finishing mill stands, the first configuration of its kind in China. 

The estimated record-breaking contract execution time for the project is scheduled for startup in November 2025, the company said.
