AISI: Steel Imports Trending Down in 2020
07/28/2020 - Steel imports into the U.S. declined nearly 21% through the first half of 2020, according to the American Iron and Steel Institute.
Citing preliminary U.S. Census data, the institute said finished and semi-finished imports stood at 12.4 million short tons, down from 15.6 million short tons in first half of 2019. At that pace, steel imports are set to fall 11.3% this year, the institute said.
