May 11, 2006 — AK Steel will increase transaction prices by approximately 6% for all hot-rolled and cold-rolled stainless steel sheet, strip, tubular quality and continuous mill plate products.

The price increases, which will be effective with shipments on May 21, 2006, will be accomplished through a two percentage point reduction in the functional discount rate.

AK Steel also said that it will increase polish finish extras on stainless steels by 17%.

Headquartered in Middletown, Ohio, AK Steel produces flat-rolled carbon, stainless and electrical steel products, as well as carbon and stainless tubular steel products, for automotive, appliance, construction and manufacturing markets.
