Baosteel Baoyi Can-making Signs Agreement with Shanghai Asia Pacific Brewery
12/15/2009 - Baosteel Metals Shanghai Baoyi Can-making Co., Ltd. has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Asia Pacific Brewery Co., Ltd. for Heineken beer to be packaged with Baosteel two-slice steel cans.
Baosteel Metals Shanghai Baoyi Can-making Co., Ltd. has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shanghai Asia Pacific Brewery Co., Ltd. for Heineken beer to be packaged with Baosteel two-slice steel cans.
The two companies started pilot negotiations in April of this year, and recently passed supplier qualification verification of Holland Heineken Brewery Group.
With several joint-venture companies in Shanghai, Hainan, etc., Holland Heineken Brewery Group has made a concerted effort to expand business in Asia, according to Baosteel, including taking 42.5% shares of Asia Pacific Breweries Group of Singapore.
Baosteel Metals claims to be the largest domestic two-slice steel can producer, and Shanghai Baoyi Can-making is reportedly China's first two-slice steel can manufacture enterprise. Baosteel Metals has already established strategic cooperation partnerships with Pepsi and Coca-Cola, and in recent years has made beer-packaging market expansion a priority through cooperative relationships with domestic beer producers.
