Baosteel Continues Expansion of Silicon Steel Production
01/17/2012 - Baosteel’s Silicon Steel Department produced a total of 1.2477 million tonnes of silicon steel 2011. The total was 23,600 tonnes more than the company’s annual target.
Baosteel Co., Ltd.’s Silicon Steel Department produced a total of 1.2477 million tonnes of silicon steel 2011. The total was 23,600 tonnes more than the company’s annual target.
Within the company’s silicon steel production for 2011, the output of NGO silicon steel has been increased by 33% and the output of laser scribing GO silicon steel with high magnet strength was increased 17% compared with the comparable year-ago period.
In its expansion of silicon steel production, the Silicon Steel Department overcame a number of difficulties, including putting the second phase into operation, construction of the third phase, and the struggle to the high end market.
The Silicon Steel Department achieved its goals for high productivity and lower production costs by developing a consistent process, implementing quality technology, and managing both production and equipment. The production line was developed through Baosteel’s research company, were specific solution were developed for the specific production lone for each division, allowing for maximum advantages and productivity to be achieved on each line.
By optimizing production, the company was able to develop a material auto substitution system thus improving the efficiency of resource utilization. New process technologies also have been developed and implemented to improve production quality and costs.
