No.1 Hot Strip Mill was one of the major projects accomplished in 1982 at China Steel’s Phase II Expansion Project and has experienced several equipment renewal projects. It currently has achieved 4.0 million tonnes of annual production.
There are four hot-rolled production lines in the China Steel group; No.1 Hot Strip Mill has the most diverse product range and largest output. The company says it will continue to upgrade the existing equipment to meet product-quality demand from market, especially for the development of high-strength alloy steel and lower slab temperature rolling practices, which contribute to reducing carbon dioxide generation.
