China Steel Signs Partnership Agreement with JAC Motor
05/02/2011 - China Steel Corp. has signed a strategic partnership agreement with JAC Motor targeting the annual supply of more than 20,000 tonnes of cold rolled products beginning in 2012.
China Steel Corp. (CSC) recently signed a strategic partnership agreement with JAC Motor targeting the annual supply of more than 20,000 tonnes of cold rolled products beginning in 2012.
The strategic partnership between China Steel and JAC Motor provides China Steel another exporting channel for cold rolled material, representing an estimate of 500 Million NTD purchase a year. China Steel has been developing exports for cold rolled and hot-dip galvanized coils to China, Southeast Asia, Europe, India, South America, Mexico etc., through its China Steel Global Trading corp. (CSGT) subsidiary, striving for oversea markets in all continents.
To support the production of automotive-grade materials, China Steel has completed its new No. 3 CAL (Continuous Annealing Line) which is designed for an annual capacity of 1.5 million tonnes, including 1.1 million tonnes of cold rolled coil and 400,000 tonnes of hot-dip galvanized coil.

In addition to cold rolled material, JAC Motor also requires a large amount of hot rolled material. Once China Steel completes its capacity expansion, the company could also support JAC Motor’s requirements for hot rolled materials, including pickled and oiled steel.
JAC Motor achieved a market sale more than 440,000 automobiles in 2010. It employs over 11,000 staff and technicians and has an annual production capacity of 610,000 automobiles and 350,000 engines.
