Cleveland-Cliffs Sued for Allegedly Trying to Unfairly Thwart Competitor
09/11/2017 - Iron ore miner Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. faces a lawsuit on allegations that it is trying to hinder a would-be competitor’s efforts to emerge from bankruptcy, reports the Dow Jones News Service.
According to Dow Jones, Mesabi Metallics Co. LLC, formerly Essar Steel Minnesota, contends Cleveland-Cliffs engaged in an "anti-competitive scheme to thwart competition" by pressuring contractors and others to refrain from doing business with Mesabi.
Cleveland-Cliffs declined to comment.
