Commerce Department Puts New Tariffs on Certain Fabricated Construction Steels
07/09/2019 - The U.S. Commerce Department has set anti-subsidy duties on fabricated structural steel from China and Mexico.
In a statement, the Commerce Department said it found that producers in those countries were unfairly benefiting from government support in their respective countries.
It set preliminary duties of between 30.3% and 177.4% on fabricated structural steel from China and 13.6% and 74% the same products from Mexico.
The duties follow an investigation that arose on complaint from the American Institute of Steel Construction.
