Danieli Announces Acquisition of W+K Industrie Technik
09/18/2007 - Danieli strengthens its presence in Europe through the recently finalized purchase of W + K Industrie Technik, a designer and builder of machines and plants for the production of large and medium section welded pipe.
The Danieli Group has strengthened its presence in Europe with its recently finalized purchase of W + K Industrie Technik GmbH & Co. KG, located in Dortmund, Germany.
W + K Industrie Technikdesigns and builds machines and plants for the production of large and medium section welded pipe (spiral pipe fabrication, pipe coating and longitudinal pipemill installation) and sandwich panels. The company operates in a market whose estimated average yearly volume of business is about 125-150 million euros.
With its own consolidated technology, W + K Industrie Technikemploys about 50 people and has a turnover of about 25 million euros.
This acquisition—at a total investment that is expected to reach approximately 5 million euros—will allow Danieli to expand its product range and complete its supply in the field of seam-welded and seamless pipe.
