Danieli Awarded Contract for Chinese Micro-Mill
07/25/2018 - Chinese steelmaker Guilin Pinggang Iron & Steel has ordered a Danieli micro-mill, handing the equipment supplier its 15th order globally for such facilities.
In a statement, Danieli said the mill will be designed to produce 1.2 million metric tons of wire rod and rebar annually.
Danieli’s micro-mills employ an endless casting and rolling system in which steel is cast and rolled in a single uninterrupted step.
The Guilin Pinggang mill will include a twin-strand continuous with an ultrahigh-speed mold; an induction furnace to equalize billet temperatures; and a rolling mill with horizontal/vertical SHS stands.
The plant is to be completed in July 2019.
