Danieli to Supply Bar and Section Mill for INCA
03/27/2008 - Danieli Morgårdshammar will supply a new 400,000-tonnes/year superflexible bar and light section mill to Industrias Nacionales, C por A (INCA) for its facility in Santo Domingo.
INCA (Industrias Nacionales, C por A), Dominican Republic, has selected Danieli Morgårdshammar to supply a new 400,000-tonnes/year superflexible bar and light section mill for its facility in Santo Domingo.
INCA’s new 18-stand rolling mill will comprise heavy-duty SHS housingless stands with automatic fast-changing system. It will be capable of rolling up to four strands with the application of multistrand slit rolling technology, which will also help to maximize production capacity for the smaller rebar sizes.
The mill will also feature state-of-the-art finishing facilities including a 78-meter cooling bed, CLS station for on-line straightening and cut-to-length, single-head magnetic stacker, and bundling and collecting services.
Fed by an 80 tonne/hour Danieli Centro Combustion walking-hearth reheat furnace, the new mill will produce 9.5- to 38.0-mm diameter rebars, 12.7- to 112.0-mm flats, 19- to 100-mm angles, and correspondent channels. Danieli Automation will supply all electricals and the advanced automation system for the new plant. Plant startup is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2009.
INCA has operated a 250,000 tonne/year bar and wire rod mill, also supplied by Danieli, since the middle of 2001.
