Danieli to Upgrade ANDEC Steelworks in Ecuador
10/16/2007 - Danieli Centro Met to supply a new 25-tonne ladle furnace and a fume dedusting plant for Acerias Nacionales del Equador’s steel works in Guayaquil, Equador.
Acerias Nacionales del Equador (ANDEC) has contracted Danieli Centro Met to supply a new 25-tonne ladle furnace and a fume dedusting plant for its steel works in Guayaquil, Ecuador.
The new ladle furnace will feature tight-roof design and will be equipped with wire feeders, inert gas bottom stirring, automatic sampling, and temperature-measurement devices. The furnace will also be equipped with a lance for emergency stirring.
Danieli Automation will supply the Level 1 automation to ensure proper equipment operation and complete control of the refining process.
Designed to support the existing EAF and new ladle furnace, the new fume dedusting plant will comprise a primary suction system, new canopy hood to be installed on the top of the building and a new filter that will grant dust emissions at the stack of less than 10 mg/N·m3.
The new units are scheduled to start up in autumn 2008.
