Electrolytic Tinning Line from Tenova in Full Production at Jiangsu Sunshine

Jiangsu Sunshine in Dajiang, China, recently went into full production with the new electrolytic tinning line supplied by Tenova Strip Processing.
The line utilizes a patented tin dissolution reactor to dissolve tin into the plating electrolyte, which reduces the waste sludge to a minimum, significantly benefitting the environment and reducing operating costs.
Compared with traditional soluble anodes, insoluble anodes offer a number of advantages in terms of the quality of the material produced, including improved uniformity of the tin coating across the width of the strip as well as a substantial reduction in overplating on the strip edges due to an edgemask system.
Because the process enables tin to be dissolved into the plating electrolyte, insoluble anode technology also helps to eliminate the need for line operators to place tin anodes into the plating cells, which results is a safer and more environmentally friendly working environment.
Jiangsu Sunshine will use the new line for the production of up to 250,000 tonnes of tin plate annually for sale on both the local and the export markets.
A number of Tenova products across the tin plate production cycle are showcased at Jiangsu Sunshine’s Dajiang plant. The line supplied by Tenova Strip Processing is part of the tin plate cold mill complex, whose production cycle includes Tenova LOI Italimpianti coil annealing bell furnaces, a Tenova I2S reversing mill and DCR mill, and a Pomini Tenova roll grinder.
