Evraz Statement on Anti-Monopoly Investigation
07/12/2010 - The Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service has launched an investigation into Evraz Group and other coal mining companies relating to the pricing of coking coal in the Russian and export (ex-Russia) markets.
The Russian Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) has launched an investigation into Evraz Group and other coal mining companies relating to the pricing of coking coal in the Russian and export (ex-Russia) markets.
Evraz says it has not been provided with any details of the investigation at the current time.
Based on the FAS statement published on its website, the claim relates to specific grades of hard and semi-hard coking coal, Zh and GZh under the Russian classification, according to Evraz.
Evraz notes that it is not an exporter of these particular coal grades, but rather uses these types of coals mostly for consumption in its own coke batteries in Russia.
The company says it will cooperate fully with the investigation.
