Firefighters Summoned to Blaze At Japanese Steel Plant
08/24/2015 - A large fire broke out at an idled steel pipe plant in Kawasaki City, Japan, on 24 August, according to news reports.
The fire, which created a thick plume of smoke, started at Nippon Steel & Sumikin Pipe Co.’s plant at around about 11:35 a.m. local time and spread to a next-door factory operated by chemical-maker Kao Corp., The Japan Times reported.
The fire forced the closure of a section of an expressway near the blaze, according to the newspaper.
