Hertwich to Supply Batch Homogenizing Plant for Hammerer Aluminium
03/08/2012 - Hammerer Aluminium Industries has placed an order with Hertwich Engineering to supply a batch homogenizing furnace for their existing casthouse.
Hammerer Aluminium Industries (HAI), Austria, has placed an order with Hertwich Engineering, Austria, for the supply of a batch homogenizing furnace for their existing casthouse.
The new homogenizing plant is the second of its kind that Hertwich Engineering has supplied to Hammerer Aluminium. The furnace is designed for extra-long holding times that will enable it to process a range of special alloys, which are a growing segment in HAI’s production.
The furnace will be used to process billets that are seven meters long and range from 153 to 381 mm in diameter. The furnace has a capacity 43 tonnes.
Commissioning is scheduled for April 2012.
