ISRA Vision Parsytec to Provide Inspection Solution Package for Posco

Posco has awarded ISRA Vision Parsytec AG an order for a surface inspection systems to be installed at an annealing pickling line and a APF line at its Pohang, Korea, facility. Parsytec will also provide parsytec 5i yield management software.

At the annealing pickling line, the existing sensor will be upgraded to a bright-field and dark-field configuration, whereas the APF will be equipped with Parsytec’s unique Dual SensorTM using both line scan and matrix cameras. The installation of the Dual Sensor—the first such installation within Posco—will help to support the company’s high quality requirements, as demonstrated thorough tests and research.

To boost its surface quality yield, Posco also bought a parsytec 5i license. They will employ the "Coil Grading", which evaluates overall coil quality based on the amount and severity of defects as well as their distribution over the strip. The software then advises whether to ship the coil, block it, or repair it.

Posco’s latest order follows a long-lasting customer relationship. By adding another surface inspection system, Posco extends its inspection and quality infrastructure based on superior recognition and solution-providing yield management software.
