Jilin Liyuan Aluminium Orders Extrusion Presses from SMS Meer

06/07/2010 - Jilin Liyuan Aluminium Co. Ltd., China, has ordered two SMS Schloemann extrusion presses from SMS Meer. The scope of supply includes a 100-MN frontloading press and a 45-MN direct/indirect tube press.

Jilin Liyuan Aluminium Co. Ltd., China, has ordered two SMS Schloemann extrusion presses from SMS Meer. The scope of supply includes a 100-MN frontloading press and a 45-MN direct/indirect tube press.
 
The 100-MN press will enable Jilin Liyuan Aluminium to produce aluminum profiles with a width of up to 700 mm for the first time, allowing the privately owned company to expand its product range, in particular toward profiles for railway and ship construction.
 
The new 45-MN tube press is designed for profiles of special alloys. It is used primarily for the production of seamless aluminum tubes up to an outside diameter of 300 mm. The press is designed for both “direct” and “indirect” extrusion of tubes or profiles.
 
With the two new machines, Jilin Liyuan’s machine park will grow to a total of 22 presses covering a press force range from 6 MN to 100 MN.
 
The presses are scheduled to go into production in October 2011 and January 2012.
